Tips on improving your skin: The best bit is they don't cost!!

As I've said in my last blog post I believe that you can't give someone advice on anything unless you've been through it yourself. Never mind bad skin days, I've been struggling with my skin for quite a while now and have come across a few easy changes that could help someone else who's dealing with the same problem. The best part is, these changes don't cost a thing.

Tip #1

When your washing your face/ removing make up with a 'wash your face only, no cotton pads' cleanser:

I have two words for you: double cleanse.
If your as lazy as me then it might seem like a too much to do when your feeling tired and just want to head to bed. Believe me though, it's worth the effort. I started this, then stopped and started again after hearing it in one of ghostparties (on youtube) videos.

Yes it uses more product and you'll have to replace it a little sooner than you would usually but try it out, seriously.

After the first cleanse (to remove the make up), rinse the face cloth and rinse water away then use fresh water for the second cleanse. This all might seem extremely basic but when you get lazy or if you get lazy then that's obv when things start to go down hill.

#2

When your having a shower, use a different towel to dry your face.

This might seem a bit excessive but I use a towel for me, one for my hair and one for my face. Check the ingredients in your conditioners and shampoo and google one or two or stop using your shampoo/ conditioner and use another and see if that solves anything. You could be allergic to something in it and if you use the same towel to dry your hair on your face then that could be the problem....

#3

Steam your face/ skin:

All you need for this is to soak a face cloth in hot water (not so hot that you burn yourself though...) then when it's comfortable enough to take it out the water put it over your face and leave it till it cools.

I hope I'm not the only lazy one who's just discovered how much these can change your skin. If you try these post a comment and let me know.

A little thank you-
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post. I really appreciate it and it helps me out. Hope you found it interesting and picked up something new. If you liked this blog post would be great if you could do me the biggest favour and share my link with your friends.

My Skin Story

Well, this is my first skincare post. Let me tell you a little about my skin.
I have two words to describe what's been going on with my skin: roller coaster. I have combination skin. Throughout my teens, school, two years of college after school, and even working in McDonalds and eating McDonalds while on my breaks I had clear skin. I'm not one to blow my own trumpet usually but back then I had amazing skin. I'd get compliments from people because of it. Obviously that was a good thing, but I looked young at the time and was slowly but surely getting into make up. I used to wear pink and blue eyeshadow to school (not together, but just pink or blue all over the lid) what was I thinking?! Right? Guess I was trying to make a "fashion statement" or stand out. That's for another post though. Now I'm 23 and I at work customers ask me or tell me that I look like I'm just out of school. So I still look 17, just imagine what I looked like at school. Maybe looking so young will be good when I'm hitting my 40s. Let's hope so.

So, in my opinion, you can't give out any skin tips or skin advice unless you've experienced stubborn breakouts that just won't disappear  or have had bad skin or acne. When you have or are experiencing skin problems you would do anything to get your skin back to normal. Normal being the way it was before any breakouts.

Back to my skin story or roller coaster. I had clear, amazing skin but when I hit my twenties it just erupted. I don't know why all I wanted was to get rid of it and yes products help and diet may or may not help (or in my case not help).

Stay tuned for some tips on how to keep your skin clear easily, without spending a fortune on products and without making dramatic changes to your diet.

Where Have I Been

So I've been lacking on the blog posts for a while but that's with good reason. I've been extremely busy over the past few months.
Had a few ups and downs, after last summer I got in to college to do what I've wanted to do for a long time (Beauty Therapy). So I've been swamped with learning new things and ongoing assessments etc. But so far so good, I'm enjoying it all apart from learning human anatomy, it's got so many diagrams and so much information. I would do anything to get out of my part time job though, so I will be getting my head down bad getting on with some work soon.
Christmas was a quiet one with the grandparents and Boxing Day was busy with a family party of 32, and that was just my mums side!
Then new year was a blast with a small local ceilidh, fireworks, family and me being the most over dressed one there (it was in a scout hall, which I found out about after I got my outfit, sadly).
In the middle of January the family and I had a bit of a downer. I lost my grandpa due to pulmonary fibrosis. It was hard for us all because towards the end he was critically ill. I won't go into details but I'm glad I don't have to see him ill like that anymore. We saw all the family (some I hadn't met before) which was nice. And my Australian cousin, aunt and uncle came over for a while which was lovely as we don't see them often.
Now onto an upper, yesterday I got back from an amazing ski holiday and I loved every minute of it. My family usually go every year. I would happily miss out on a summer holiday and go skiing instead. Unless it was a city holiday like Italy, NYC, Paris etc etc.
I have a few ideas for blog posts so expect to see what I travelled with make up wise. Some winter SOS posts, and possibly a few others.
Hope your as excited as I am.
Stay tuned guys!
